Maternal Child Health (MCH)

Please scroll down to view the Baby-Friendly Policy

The long-term goal of the MCH program is to support pregnant First Nations women and families with infants and young children, who live on reserve, to reach their fullest developmental and lifetime potential.

To this end, the community health nurse will:

Provide screening and assessments.

Identify the needs of the families and determine the level and types of services that will benefit them most.

Network with other services to develop a family service plan that reflects the family’s goals and concerns.

Increase access to cultural values, customs and beliefs into all program components.
